Pastor's Desk
Today we commemorate the coming of the promised Spirit, commonly referred to as Pentecost (50 days after the Resurrection), which also celebrates the birth of our Church. While we read two different versions of this same event, one from Acts and the other from the Gospel of John, the meaning is the same. Jesus promised that his Spirit, the Spirit he shares with the Father, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of all-consuming love, would descend on the apostles and empower them to continue his work.
Happy Pentecost to all. We hope that you all enjoy the Memorial Day weekend, the official start of our summer!
